Oh possum

Oh possum is a five piece instrumental art collective from Des Moines, IA.
They have been performing live since Halloween of 2005.
At that time it was Adam Haug(guitar, arrangement/production) Will Bliss(drums), Nick Lambert(turntables, xylophone) & Jake Nelson (moog, rhodes piano). Micah Sturdevant (pedal steel, casiotone) was later added to complete the group by the following Halloween. Guest artist Chris Petersen along with Jake and Will play a big role when it comes to the Oh possum live show which includes ever changing custom art-video projections that sync to epic crescendos of sound which creates a sensory mosaic of music and imagery.



In 2006 the band independently released a 4 song EP entitled "Ghost in the Grass". During this time the band played many shows and events over the midwest, sharing the stage with the likes of DJ Swamp, P.O.S., CapgunCoup and performing large music events such as Des Moines Annual Gross Domestic Product music festival and Drakes University's Dogtown Fest.



On October 28th 2007 Oh possum released their debut independent album which is entitled "The Eerie Beat Visual". This album name reflects the band's overall sound and feel which is a unique array of very dynamic and spooky night-time-felt beats and instrumentation.
The result of the various influences and backgrounds of the individuals involved is a juxtaposition of melodious low points to grating and heavy highs, with a union of hip hop and drum & bass influenced electronic beats and varied experimental instrumentation from hardcore to ambient.
