Jared Mees & The Grown Children - "Oh No Oh My God" - Video
PUBLISHED:  Feb 25, 2013

From the album 'Caffeine, Alcohol, Sunshine, Money' (2008) • Pay what you want http://tndr.lv/1bQF218

You tell me you quit, but what you mean is you just quit buying
You tell me you stopped, but what you mean is you just stopped trying
The tracks of the car feel like they're coming off the trails
The waves are crashing over the tops of the sails
You're breaking that mirror cause that person just can't be you
Oh no, oh my god, I've lost control
Sweet surrender, satisfy my soul
Holy hallelujah, I'm losing hope
There's so many things I want, but all that I'm agetting's old
You say miracles are some people overreacting
But I say that's a good way to get a miracle to happen
While the wind's done blown, the cradle's on the lawn
The bow's done broke, and your baby's long gone
The aftermath is only half as bad as it is true
Oh no, oh my god, I've lost control
Sweet surrender, satisfy my soul
Holy hallelujah, I'm losing hope
There's so many things I want, but all that I'm agetting's old

Constant lineup changes and improvised, infrequent rehearsals would cause many bands to suffer, but they’ve become the lifeblood of Jared Mees & The Grown Children, giving the group’s live shows a devil-may-care energy and keeping the songs honest and raw. A fruitful collaboration between Mees and singer-songwriter Megan Spear produced the 2008 album Caffeine, Alcohol, Sunshine, Money; and a long-lived lineup with Joe Bowden and Javier Madrigal on percussion and guitar/trumpet, respectively.
