RAHSAAN "RAH MONEY" REEVES BIOGRAPHY

HIP-HOP ARTIST/R&B ARTIST/GRAPHIC DESIGNER/PRODUCER/CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER OF NAPPY ENTERTAINMENT/STUDENT/BIG BROTHER/ROLE MODEL

Rahsaan "Rah Money" Reeves was born in The Bronx, New York on June 14, 1994, at 12:13 am. Ever since then, the world hasn't been the same. At age 3, Reeves had a passion for playing basketball and he loved it, he was all basketball 24/7. He says to us, "I was born a Laker. My blood is purple & gold. I even loved them when they didn't make the playoffs!" Reeves grew up in a neighborhood where the only thing people did to stay out of trouble was play ball. So Reeves entered many basketball programs close to his Parkchester Neighborhood such as: Kips Bay Mustangs Basketball, Firstep, and Parkchester recreational center. He did this over the course of the 11 years he resided in The Bronx. Around age 6, was where he began to have a passion for music. He watched such shows as: MTV, BET's 106 & Park (when AJ & Free hosted), Rap City as well as many others. He excelled in reading, and was great for his age. He recalls his self reading the credits on a Lauryn Hill video, and noticed that under every artist album title, there was something that said "Blank" Records. He developed a name (Lil' R, which became R.Money, which eventually lead to Rah Money) and started writing songs. That lead him to the thought, "I should make something with records in front of it". So he did, and he came up with the title "Nappy Records" (later changed to Nappy Entertainment, he felt it didn't sound like a 6-year old came up with it) due to what some people in his neighborhood referenced his hair as. "Nappy". He said "he was proud of it and embraced the "Nappy" name" (not to be confused with T-Pain's NAPPY BOY DIGITAL imprint made in 2006. NAPPY ENTERTAINMENT established in 2000). He was very young and didn't understand the concept of a label. He just used it as a name because of what he saw on television. During the year 2002, (age 8) he began writing rhymes, and that year he spent the summer with his aunt in North Carolina (he did this until the year 2004, now it is his permanent residence). He gathered a group of 8 rappers, and made a group called Cash Money Brothers. Together they wrote rhymes, they never recorded in a studio. But that was when Reeves "became serious about a future in music". So for years to come, he just wrote rhymes frequently. Until the year 2006, his mother introduced him to a new place in uptown Charlotte called "ImaginOn". It was to be known as the "Granddaddy of all libraries". At first he didn't like it. but then he kept going. One day he realized, there was a studio in that facility. So he began using their resources, and started on his first mixtape entitled "Tha Reeves". Which he purposely titled that to show that he will be the new name of the game (similar to "The Carter"). Ultimately, he released his first mixtape in September 2007 with one of his artists "Chris B." He now looks back at it as "the worst piece of junk ever made" and he laughs and says "I wish I never wasted a 50-pack of blank cds to copy and hand. He sold about 15 to some friends (at the time he was homeschooled-just 8th grade and part of 7th). The rest he gave out to his members of the family. But 2008 was a surprising year for him, he mastered the use of Adobe Photoshop & designing graphics, signed over 30 talented artists and started helping them make hits, along with releasing his 2nd and final mixtape "Seveer Damage" (Seveer last name spelled backwards. One of the most important artist

signed was a young man named "Johnny Billings" aka Yung Xtreme. He worked with him on several projects, and introduced him to a recording program called Adobe Audition & Yahoo Messenger, which he uses frequently to collaborate with other artists. That same year he began production for his debut album "Fueled On Empty", he made several MySpace hits off of the album. It was set to be released on his mother's birthday 4/22/09. It received numerous delays, because he lost the files off of the album and was trying to recover them. It was finally pushed back to 9/23/08, until he shelved the project indefinitely. Then he began on a new project, "A Millionaires Playground". He made the million dollar bill that can be seen on his album cover, which was made just to be something on his wall. He had a conversation with his mom where she was talking about New York City, and referred to it as a Millionaires Playground. That's what sparked the idea. Then he put the finishing touches on the cover, adding a photo of him as a young 6-year old, and there it was. In the middle of production, he said "well I should probably make this a double album since I've been taking for ever on a debut album for the fans." So that's what he did. He saw a film in summer 2008, called "The Dark Knight" one of his favorites of all-time. He enjoyed the film and the performance of Heath Ledger as The Joker (rest in peace). He remembered the one scene from the movie, where he repeatedly said the line "Why So Serious?", like a lunatic. That's where he got the album title idea from, and he created his physco alter ego "The Joker". He then set a 40 track wish list, and started gathering beats from Soundclick and his producer Dj Sauce. He then set the date for his debut as February 24, 2009. That eventually lead to a push back of June 16, 2009 (2 days after his birthday). That gives him more time to work with his artists, get the album completed, and promote. As of now, Rah Money is known on MySpace with over thousands of friends, over 2 Million profile views, and nearly 4 Million song plays. His debut album, is currently on it's way with thousands of singles & ringtones sold. He currently is a SOPHOMORE at Independence High School in Mint Hill, North Carolina, is Chief Executive Officer of Nappy Entertainment, and is a proud big brother of five younger siblings.
