Diogo Ribeiro is at the controls for the latest release on Flow Records. The 'No Contact' EP is a superb double-header of new tracks: 'No Contact' itself and 'Cold Fusion' in collaboration with Spikers. Like Flow Records, both producers are based in Lisbon, and this release reflects the quality of music coming out of the Portuguese electronic scene.

The original version of 'No Contact' sets the scene perfectly as a deep and moody rhythm laced with whispered vocal effects builds into a synth-laden symphony full of intricate twists and turns. Subtle while still packing a mean punch, it's a classy release from an artist who is already known to Flow aficionados through his superb remix of Daniel Mehes's 'Idleness' on Flow Vinyl. Another emerging name on the Portuguese scene, Fenix Project (the production alias of DJ Lama), takes 'No Contact' in a different direction with his remix. A slick and sexy house workout, it adds a seriously funky edge to the original, just right for those sunset disco moments.

'Cold Fusion' is disco of a darker variety with its driving bass line pushing the track into late night territory. The groove may be simple, but it's highly effective, and destined to take a firm hold of the dance floor. Completing this impressive release is the Magitman remix of 'Cold Fusion'. The Israeli producer has crafted the groove of the original into a high energy, bouncy tech house version while still retaining its essential deep funk.
