It is no secret that the South has held a choke hold on popular music for the past few years and the state which began this assault was none other than Texas. While most of the popular artists of recent years came out of Houston, one San Antonio artist who goes by the name of Fade Dogg has consistently kept his name ringing throughout the independent music industry. With his ever growing catalogue of classic albums and the entire city of San Antonio on his back The Tone City King is prepared to bring his hard hitting southern dipped music straight to your door step.

Raised in the streets of San Antonio, Texas Fade Dogg spent most of his life in and out of trouble. As he puts it "I have never been fake and will always speak up for what I believe." This attitude gave Fade Dogg immense credibility in his home city while simultaneously always landing him in trouble for standing up to anyone he felt wronged by. Besides the trouble that plagued his early years Fade Dogg grew up surrounded by a budding music scene that caught his attention and led to him developing his later music career. Southern Hip Hop artists were just beginning to really catch on and while Fade cites them as a influence he claims his first major influence was Latino Hip Hop Group Cypress Hill. With a mind full of aggression and true life stories from his life in the streets Fade Dogg began to write his first songs at the age of 13. From those first rhymes Fade would continue to write and perfect his lyrics while rapping them back to himself in a attempt to work on his flow.

In 1997 Fade Dogg was given his first opportunity to enter the recording studio as he recorded and released his first project with San Antonio based Brown Tribe. This along with his appearance on the independent classic "Illegal Amigos" compilation, built a very healthy buzz for him in the Southern Region. Unfortunately things with Brown Tribe didn't go as Fade had expected and Fade left to form his own record label Tone City Records. Putting together and successfully running one's own label is never a easy task but Fade Dogg quickly stepped up the challenge recording and releasing the "Southern Swanging" Compilation and his debut solo album "Fade Em All." Both of these projects were met with great reception in Texas and across the United States as they were distributed by Southwest Wholesale. Fade Dogg immediately found himself being booked for shows and other artists seeking him out for verses. The new found fame saw Fade Dogg traveling on a promo trip to Albuquerque, NM where he was set to record verses for a local label. Fade Dogg's ever growing presence and hard hitting lyrics led to the label offering him a one project solo deal leading Fade to create his sophmore album "Choppin' Game."

"Choppin' Game" created all new fan bases for Fade Dogg across the United States and he found himself being sought out by other artists even more heavily including Latino Rap Legend Frost who Fade began regularly collaborating with and in 2003 writing music for. Over the next few years Fade would continue to keep his name buzzing in music with appearances on group projects and mix-tapes that saw him collaborating with such notables as Paul Wall, Chingo Bling, Baby Bash (on his gold selling "Smoking Nephew CD), Gemini, and Pitbull. He was also tapped to represent his region in power house magazine Lowrider Magazine. With a large collection of new releases set to hit the market, Fade Dogg stands as a shining example of success to other Latinos hoping to create a career for themselves in entertainment.

The crown has been placed on his head and with the entire city of San Antonio on his back Fade Dogg is carrying his career and his city across the goal line of of world wide success.
