Born and raised in Laredo Texas a city where the hip hop scene music

and culture is not embraced to well. Dave Perez way better known as DJ

Too Dope Dave managed and still to this day surrounds himself with the

style and swagger of hip hop music. He started with an ear for the music by

break dancing at an early age, wether he was busting out his backspins

at a family wedding or battling it out with the big boys at local teen

nights. If you want to put a time line on when the famous name of Too

Dope began we can say that at this time in his life he wanted to be

just like MC Hammer and Vanilla Ice. When you talk to this guy he seems calm

and collective and you would have never thought battling it out on the

dance floor was his thing. As he evolved into a well respected B-boy

and freestyler in his teenage years he picked up an interest in dj'ing. "

I just love the feeling of the music taking over me". and " I knew I

wanted to be the one to give other people that feeling". he remembers

being in the eighth grade and not having the money to afford turn

tables those in the DJ game know exactly how much turntables can come out to be, but money wasn't a thing for too dope, he made do with what he

had. He knew he had the ear and the knowledge on the hip hop

scene, and that would allow him to bust out the coolest mixtapes, and were

talking about tapes, recorded tapes that were mixed with just the

simple touch of record and pause button. He didn't care how he made his

mixtapes he wanted to have the latest and hottest tracks on his tapes.

By his freshman year DJ Too Dope Dave got his first turntables.and

has perfected his passion from then on. He continues to follow his

heart in what he loves to do, and keeps everyone in check with up and coming hits.Watching him while he does his magic on the ones and twos you

would know that hes got allDONOTBLOCKOURADS body and mind in it, and it is obvious music

is his high. He's a genius when it comes to picking out the hottest and

latest music. Not only do the streets of Laredo have his mixtapes to

keep their stereos bumpin', but he pushes local artists to do their

"thang" and represent the true hidden talent that the streets of Laredo

consists of.
