This piece was created for Interference, a multidisciplinary performance on February 12, 2014, at Oberon Theatre in Cambridge, MA. Through various mediums, the cast explored how a community heals through art after tragedy, taking inspiration from Picasso's famous monochromatic painting Guernica. This piece sought to examine how anxiety caused by traumatic events is exacerbated by repetitive negative imagery in the media. As a message is repeated and becomes more familiar to the recipient, the perception of it as truth increases. In order to correct this imbalance, we must actively work to replace the negative imagery with positive imagery.
