Now-Again Records is home to UK psych-funk collective The Heliocentrics, the band’s drummer Malcolm Catto, the afrodelic kraut-funk Poets of Rhythm offshoots Karl Hector & The Malcouns and The Whitefield Brothers, production duo MRR-ADM, Cheshire, UK-based engineer, producer, guitarist and fuzz-synth kingpin Mr. Chop and the latin-jazz combo Triorganico.

Egon established Now-Again in 2001 as an offshoot of the Los Angeles-based independent hip-hop label, Stones Throw Records. Now-Again focuses on issuing new bands who offer a progressive take on the past forty years’ musical landscape and reissuing the best raw, heavy funk music that came out on U.S. independent labels in the late '60s and early '70s. Check out the Now-Again compilation Cold Heat Vol. 1 for an introduction to this type of funk. In 2009, Now-Again will focus on world-psychedelia influenced by funk music. The forthcoming compilation Forge Your Own Chains Vol. 1 will serve as an introduction to this style of music.

Now-Again also releases hip-hop tracks that combine with funk. Rappers such as Percee P, Guilty Simpson, M.E.D., Edan, Aloe Blacc have blessed the catalog with verses. Remixers include the likes of Kenny Dope, Cut Chemist, J.Rocc, Todd Terry, Oh No and Koushik. Check out the collection Now-Again Re:Sounds Vol. 1 for the hip-hop.

Now-Again CDs and vinyl are available at fine record stores, including online retailers such as fatbeats.com, dustygroove.com, turntablelab.com and stonesthrow.com. Many titles are available via digital download through iTunes and eMusic.
