NORTH started in December ’92 in Torun. It was found by Sirkis (vocal, guitar) and Thorn (guitar, vocal). In February ’93 Nithramous, the drummer joined the band. In May ’93 NORTH recorded its first demo "Entering the Dark Kingdom". During November recording session of their second demo "As My Kingdonm Rises" band was assisted with other guitarist, Vermighor (Neasit). In December ’93 band has stabilized its line up admitting basisst – Sebesthor (ex-DEHUMANIZED). With this line up they recorded "Promo ‘94" in April.
In November ’94 band recorded their first album "Thorns on the Black Rose" released a few months later by ASTRAL WINGS Records. In November ’95 band entered the studio to record MCD split "Jesienne Szepty" (with SACRILEGIUM) for Dutch Black Arts production. During the next recording session which took place in March ’96, while recorded second album "From the Dark Past" (with 2 bonus tracks) Vermighor starred as a guest one more time. Unfortunately, band couldn’t release this material with any label. After that Thorn and Nitramous left the band and they became replaced by guitarist Aothar (SELOSSED, GROM) and drummer Helldriver (ex-CROUQE-MORT, ex- IMMANENT SCREAM).
In September ’96 band took place in PAGAN RECORDS venture called "Czarne Zastepy w Holdzie KAT" and recorded KAT’s cover "Noce Szatana". In May ’97 Aothar left the band. Finally, in June ’98 ASTRAL WINGS Records released "From the Dark Past" and two other tracks recorded with this album in ’96, on the CD split NORTH/ GROM/ MARHOTH "Wladcy Pólnocy". In autumn ’99 MAJESTAT NOCY Promotion released all the prior demos professionally. In July 2000 NAWIA Production released "Wojna Trwa" which was the cross section of all studio stuff so far. In Autumn 2000 the same label released "Jesienne Szepty" split as a cassette version and NEASIT promo "Przedswit.". The band recorded third album "Korona" in the spring of ’01 at DBX studio in Warsaw with session guitarists - Slawoj (NÓW) i Marth (ex-IMMANENT SCREAM). This long break in working was caused by continuous changes of guitarists. "Korona" was released in July ’04 by the band itself as S.P&B Records.
The spring of ’04 brought another recording session at GRYF studio in Warsaw with another guitarist – Muerte. They recorded 3 tracks for "Lechia, Slawia, Aria" split with GROMOWLADNY. It was released in June ’05 by EASTSIDE. The band decided to expel Muerte.
In the spring of ’05 band recorded one track for CD split "Eastern Hammer" with GRAVELAND, NOCTURNAL MORTUM i TEMNOZOR.
At the end of 2005, the band was offered to record a new CD by Pagan Records. The recordings lasted from February till September 2006 in Brodnica’s EVP Studio - former GRYF. The album "Na Polach Bitew" was released in October 2006. In July 2006, the band played their first live concert. Since then they have been fighting their war live. In the same month, OLD TEMPLE released the digi pack re-edition of the first CD "Thorns on the Black Rose" Following re-edition of the older albums are planned.
