Arathyr

2004r

In February, after a few months of searching for a drummer, two guitarists - Bogush and Zguben welcomed Dishar. The band started rehearsing regularly and concentrated from the very beginning on its own material. They were still searching for a bassist and finally in May Lugh completed the troop. The band spent the following few months working hard on the material and afterwards they entered DBX studio. The August session of Arathyr, as they decided to name the band, effected in their first, recorded live, demo. The material contained four compositions of Arathyr and a cover of the band Emperor - 'I am the Black Wizards'. It was the first harsh lesson that gave the band an essential base from which they would benefit in the future. In September Arathyr gave a live performance for the first time. The gig was very successful, as the audience welcomed them with appreciation . Shortly after that, Dishar left the band. In October Bogush and Zguben, from then known as Aboiminator and Morbiden, along with the musicians from dissolved band from Warsaw called Arren, brought to existence the new band Damned.



2005r

The search for a new drummer lasted for a year, though the time was not wasted. Through numerous performances Abominator and Morbiden gained experience. At the same time they proposed Hexen (Damned drummer) to join the band. In November Hexen accepted the proposal and became the Arathyr drummer. It turned out that it was a pivotal point in their history. Throughout the following month two new songs were composed, and the band decided to place them on the new demo called "Mourning Voices", recorded in December at DBX studio.



2006r

As Arathyr did not want to make the mistake of many young groups, which try to record the first album too early, they decided to visit the studio once again in order to gain some extra experience. In February Arathyr begun recording their new demo named "Path of Abomination" at Sophiria Studio. The material contained three songs from the early days, which the members considered to be the best ones. In May Abominator and Morbiden recorded a new promotional material with the Damned. Having done that they decided to leave the Damned and focus on their own project. In September Arathyr, along with Vedonist and Newbreed went onto a very hearty welcomed tour which visited seven Polish cities. Immediately afterwards the artists begun to work on the material for their first commercial album. The origin plan assumed that the session would take place near the middle of 2007. Positive feedback and reviews of both demos became an additional impulse boosting the band.



2007r

The band was working on the material till the end of June. In July Arathyr begun the recording session of their debut album in the Zed studio. After a few weeks they had eight songs recorded, seven of which was completely new compositions and one was a new version of an old song. The band benefit from the experience they gained during the previous studio visits, therefore the final effect of the session is impressive and satisfying. In August the bassist Lugh had to leave the band. Just after few days a new ambitious musician – Sever – joined the troop.
