DESCRIPTION:
Grey Noise is a variation of White Noise and Pink Noise, though not as commonly used in audio.
It is close relative to Pink Noise with extra energy--sound frequencies in the high and and a solid low end. Mid-range frequencies are lower in intensity which makes Grey Noise more aesthetically pleasing to the listener than White Noise. It is sort of an electric version of a natural stream or water flowing over rocks.
Good for listening at low levels and masking unwanted sound in the immediate acoustic environment. Listen to it during work or sleep.
Electronically generated sounds with a naturalistic appeal.

The creation process involved a DAW (digital audio workstation), ProTools. A audio signal generator was utilized to create noise which is then equalized to represent the audio spectrum responses of Grey Noise as defined by the broadcast industry in the early-mid 20th Century. The audio is recorded from the generator for 10 hours and then exported into a video editing program, Magix Vegas. A corresponding video is created with custom graphics I made in the video program. The visual is animated, then married to the audio and rendered out to the full length final video.
