Artist Biography: Koltdown (also known as KTDN) is a groove metal band with some years of been started in La Paz, South Baja, Mexico. The members decided to move to Mexico City, looking for better chances of growing as band. The project was kept alive only by both guitarists, Mike Porta and Héctor Trasviña, who eventually found and recruited new members in Mexico City.
In 2012, Koltdown was the support act for Metallica in Mexico City the first four shows. They’ve also played in many different
places in Mexico. They were part of the lineup of Hell n’ Heaven Metal Fest 2011 & 2013 in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Their first album is called Truth Becomes, released in early 2011. It has 12 songs that reflects musical influences of each
member of the band. Each song gives different colors and emotions wich combined, they fully described Koltdown’s
proposal. Influence of heavy metal, thrash, progressive, even grunge and hard rock can be heard within the entire album.
Recently, Rolling Stone Magazine in Mexico made a review of Truth Becomes in April 2011 edition, remarking the rudeness of
vocals and guitar riffs, and the solid bass and drums arrangements.
