DESCRIPTION:
On August 14, 2012 I had the unprecedented honor of not only getting to hang out in THE actual studio assembled by one of my biggest musical heroes, ELLIOTT SMITH, I got to see (and touch) his MIC COLLECTION, freak over his FAIRCHILD COMPRESSOR (one actually from ABBEY ROAD), trip out on his TOY PIANOS, flip over his BEATLES DOLL COLLECTION, and have my mind melted by his TRIDENT A RANGE mixing board of doom--I actually got to hear TWO OF MY OWN SONGS through HIS board!! (Words do not do justice to the radness of that experience...)

This video shows playback of my "Brian on the Brain" a cappella song (from MANNERISMS MAGNIFIED) through Elliott's TRIDENT A RANGE (the cell phone audio obviously does NOT do justice to the sound quality of this UNSURPASSED mixing board). "Bad Seed" also got cranked through it--and NEVER sounded better! I still have goosebumps...

By the way, this *exact* board, purchased by Elliott, was also used to record Rush's MOVING PICTURES, The Police's "Message in a Bottle" (among others), Cat Stevens stuff, and more. SUPER MAGIC BONUS: I *also* got to hear some of Elliott's actual songs ("Twilight" and "Let's Get Lost"), cranked through the actual board he recorded them through! The tears are wellin'...
