Bleed (Original Song & Original Painting) ~ Julia Breeze - Video
PUBLISHED:  Feb 20, 2017
DESCRIPTION:
I wrote this song based on the poem “Bleeding” by May Swenson. I interpreted this as an abusive relationship and wanted to portray it with a painting. Both were part of an assignment for my lit class. Hope you enjoy!

Oh and here is a link if you want to read the poem: https://www.poets.org/poetsorg/poem/bleeding

Lyrics:

Don’t say a word. He can do what he wants.
He let you in so don’t dare put up a fuss.
You are now his. And he’s yours when he wants to be.
You will be fine if he sees what he wants to see.

No point in change. Cause we love after every apology.
He kindly accepts who you are when you clean up your mess
cause you bleed all over your heart in his hands.
And you see all the red, not the knife, in his hands.
When you fell you relied on, not you but, those hands
to pull you up
and put you
where they thought
you belonged…
and he tells me:
be strong.
and don’t bleed anymore.
I think:
what else am i for?

But I won’t say a word. He can do what he wants.
He let me in. I won’t dare put up a fuss.
I am now his, and he’s mine when he wants to be.
I will be fine when I see things the way I’m supposed to see.
