DESCRIPTION:
Polish producer Marcin Stepien aka Neptun 505 makes his debut on Bonzai Progressive with a two track progressive monster entitled 'Zulu EP'. Marcin started to make own music in 1999, but 2008 was a real breakthrough year for him with original and remix releases on labels like Magnetide Records, UDTK Records, and then later on Dirty Stuff Records, Electronic Tree, Mistique Music, Smart Phenomena Records and Passion Fruit Recordings. Today he is working on solo stuff and sometimes he collaborates with E.F.G.

First up is 'Zulu' which intros with superb tribalistic patterns via some smooth membranophone action and a nice chunky house kick with a side of cool hats and other percussions. A deep resonating bass makes a stealthy entrance to the sound with nifty work on the frequency filter. Wonderful cascading synths weave out a cool vibe and the track soon takes on a full progressive persona. Brilliant stuff and a definite must for any prog set!

'Orion' gets down to tribal business from the off as a round of quality percussions carve out neat rhythmic patterns. A rising synth pad also brings the bassline along for the ride as the track builds the layers beautifully. Very cool chord changes on the synths keep the ear trained and on the break subtle melodies get the focus before coming right back into prog mode for the duration, top stuff.
