We are Nekkrosis. A 4-piece metal band from a small town where hopes and dreams come to die.

We formed in 2003, for a laugh more than anything else. We were inspired not only by our favourite bands, but also what we wanted to hear our favourite bands do but never did.

We started off with a very sludgecore sound, maybe due to the fact that early practises usually deteriorated into nothing more than bong sessions with a beat. But as time passed and the fog of smoke cleared (for everyone other than Griff anyway) we found a more death metal edge creeping into our sound.

Our lyrics were and still are a very tongue-in-cheek affair. They represent our personalities, our sick sense of humour and inability to take ourselves too seriously.

Once we'd found our feet musically we went on to play gigs all over the country and developed a chaotic, intense and warped live show, our gurning on-stage persona either charming or offending anyone we played to (usually the latter). When we had enough songs we recorded a few rough demo's with the help of good friend and local musical genius Dave Cleaton (aka Sub Version).

With these demo's we managed to grab the attention of legendary knob-botherer Russ Russell, and soon went on to record our first official EP, "Left To Rot", with him behind the desk, which we released through small independant label Attic Records in 2006.

It was received well by critics, earning 7/10 in Terrorizer and 9/10 in Rocksound. Standout track "Crossgender" also received air-play on the Radio 1 Rock Show.

Later on in the year we played a set on the unsigned stage at the Bloodstock open air festival, and in december we supported The Berzerker on their 2-week UK tour, gurning, grinding and sweating to a slowly more appreciative audience each gig.

2007 was a bleak year for the band, starting with a large amount of equipment getting stolen (Ash had the same guitar nicked twice in 2 months!?), then due to a lack of interest and desire to concentrate on other things in his life, vocalist Dan parted ways with the band. All this happened while we were planning to record our debut album. Metaphorically speaking we were quantra-spazzed on a life-glug.

We decided to continue with our plans to record the album, once again with master turd-polisher Russ Russell bothering the knobs. We managed to find a replacement for vocalist duties in old friend and notorious small-bean regarder Jamie Stuart. He came to the studio with us and recorded half of 'Technotic Subversion', but due to personal reasons he also had to part ways with the band.

So in 2008 Griff began re-writing the new material to suit one vocalist. We completed our self-financed debut and were impressed with the results, but we found ourselves with no real way of getting it out there, we had no label or management as we had parted ways with Attic.

Fortunately, Russ's attention had rubbed off on his good friend Shane Embury, Napalm Death's longest serving member and founder of FETO records. Shane liked what he heard, and after some disussion agreed to release our debut album through FETO.

Technotic Subversion was released on 23/03/09.
