The 2 main modules used in this track were the Intellijel / Cylonix Shapeshifter and the Q-Bit Nebulae. “Shapeshifting Nebulae” - get it? Sweet. On to the patch…

I took the chorus vocal for the title track from my new album (End of an Empire) and looped it through the Nebulae. I then selected different loop start points each time it was triggered using the Make Noise Brains / Pressure Points combo. I used the Macbeth X-series Dual EG to slowly open and close the output of the Nebulae. The Shapeshifter was in Step Mode and I ran it through the Macbeth X-Series Dual SV Filter, in all of it’s stereophonic glory.

Drums were triggered from the Mutable Instruments Braids. I manually tweaked the “Fill” amounts of the 3 outputs to make the drum pattern more or less busy, depending on what i was feeling. The drum sounds themselves are comprised of different oscillators, the snare was from the Mutable Instruments Braids and the hats from the Harvestman Piston Honda. Kick was from the TipTop BD 808.

Some verb and compression in the box and that wraps it up.

Enjoy!
