N'Chyx (pronounced En-Chikes) is a recording artist, performer, model, urban fashion designer, songwriter and lyricist from Wolverhampton City in the UK. From an early age it was obvious to everyone around her that she has passion for music and was destined to be involved in the music industry. By the age of eight N'Chyx was entering song writing competitions as well as writing material for other artists to perform. N'Chyx has a style, a passion and a vibe that is totally unique. N'Chyx is original and refreshingly diverse, and has already being tipped as one of the urban acts in the UK who has the crossover potential to do massive things.
Things began to get serious for N'Chyx around 2004 when she became a regular guest on various underground Midlands radio stations, slowly but surely gaining the respect as a female MC who could hold her own in a male dominated musical genre. After getting noticed and getting heard locally there became a big demand for a CD release and in 2006 N'Chyx dropped her well received debut 'No Time Volume One'. This lead to a string of local performances and radio appearances as well as Avit Clothing getting in touch with her to model their new range of clothes and eventually offering to manufacture and market her own range of clothing called 'Garmz Fresh'.
As a 'thank-you' to Avit Clothing N'Chyx kindly did them an exclusive track called 'Avit' produced by Barry Blak which began to blow up the airwaves. Then the well-respected urban producer/DJ Denver went on to do a bassline remix of the track using N'Chyx's first line of the song 'Garmz Fresh I only rock da best'. This is the track that catapulted N'Chyx into the limelight as the track was heavily supported by the likes the scenes biggest names such as Jamie Duggen, DJ Apostle, DJ Cameo, Nev Wright and DJ EJ. The track then rapidly achieved 'anthem status' being used on Ministry Of Sound's massive TV advertised compilation album 'The Sound Of Bassline' in 2008 as well as also being used on an official BBC 1Xtra compilation album. The track also reached number 2 in the Tunecore download charts beating the likes of Jay-Z and many other well known acts.
In 2008 N'Chyx released the follow-up to her debut mixtape 'No Time Volume Two' and entered the '16Bar Champion' competition on Ras Kwame's infamous BBC 1Xtra radio show. After winning four knockout battle rounds she was crowned the winner with the producers and editors of BBC 1Xtra being so impressed they actually offered her a job presenting and working there. At this time N'Chyx also signed up the well-known booking & artist agency Audiolab who are best known for the work they have done with their other acts such as Wiley, N-Dubz, Tinchy Stryder, Chipmunk and Big Narstie.
N'Chyx has now performed at various events up and down the UK including Garage Nation at Concorde Brighton, Pineapple Dance Show at London's 02 Arena, The Clothes Show at Birmingham NEC, London's Notting Hill Carnival and many more, as well making TV appearances on Being N-Dubz (Channel 4), Pineapple Dance Studios (Sky One), Britain's Next Urban Superstar (Flava TV) as well as having cameo's in music videos such as Baby Blue's 'Sometimes' and Pariz1 & YBM's 'We Stand Tall'.
N'Chyx has never made a secret of the difficulties of being a female artist in the urban music scene and coming from a place that is sometimes scrutinised for its accent you might think that the chips are stacked against her. What N'Chyx has proven is that with focus, hard work, commitment, determination that anything can happen. N'Chyx is exactly what the UK needs and her new release 'No Time Volume Three - Time To Fly' which is released at the end of November 2010 will be her biggest release to date. Confirmed guests include Tenny Tenn, Genesis Elijah and Slick Don, as well as producers Nutty P, Flava D and Barry Blak. N'Chyx is a talented artist who is destined for big things.
