A Nation in Silhouette was written as part of a residency at The Bruno Arts Bank in Bruno Saskatchewan. It is part of a larger song-cycle called Ode to Joy which will be recorded in early 2013. Ode to Joy was written in Bruno after Corbin returned from a voyage that took him from Timbuktu, Mali to Baranquilla, Colombia searching for unusual musical experiences. The album is about realigning our relationship to the future and edifying our capacity for joy. A Nation in Silhouette is a preview of what The Nautical Miles have in store.
