The Masque of the red death
Prince Prospero locks himself and a thousand of his noble friends in his abbey to avoid a plague know as the "red death". During a masquerade, seven rooms are decorated each in a different colour. The last, decorated in black and illuminated by a red light, seem to frighten most. In this room there also is a large clock that chimes each hour. At midnight a figure in a black, blood-spattered robe crosses the halls, wearing a corpse-like mask. Enraged by its presence, Prospero follows the figure through the rooms. In the last room, the figure turns and Prospero falls dead. The figure is the red death itself, and all the guest start to die of the disease.
