Anup Sastry - Chimp Spanner - Bad Code Drum Cover - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jun 19, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
Watch in HD!!! This is a drum cover of 'Bad Code' by Chimp Spanner! This is a super fun song to play! I will be touring with Jeff Loomis in the U.S. this July (and early August), but I will also be filling in for Chimp Spanner on this tour. I am only a fill-in, and will not be joining Chimp Spanner as a full-time member. I decided to do a couple of videos for the Chimp Spanner material that I had to learn for this tour!!! I don't use my left tom in this video (or the other videos I will upload in the future for this material) only because I won't be using a left tom on tour. So I learned all of the material excluding the left tom! I just left it setup in the video!

All of the drums are natural. I just did my best to make a decent mix for the tube! I also bought new monitors (Yamaha HS80's). So it was fairly interesting (and MUCH better) to mix through these monitors as to my old ones. Also, my Paiste 2002 Series Wild Crash (the one on the right side of my kit directly to the left of my stack) is cracked in this recording. Im not positive when this happened. It really sucks because I cracked my Signature Series crash (the one on the left side) while I was in India playing with Skyharbor. As soon as I got home, I replaced it, but only to find out that my 2002 was also cracked! hahaha! Cymbals...

I also got a hold of some extra cameras. I was able to get some different angles for this video!!! The camera I normally use is a Canon HF R21. The second shoulder view I included was done with a Flip HD camera. And, the third angle from my control room was done with a Casio Exilim. This was really difficult to do because the Casio and the Flip HD didn't have anywhere near the amount of battery life or recording time as my HF R21. So I had to be as efficient as possible with my time. In other words, the pressure was really on in this one! hahaha!
