The Melanie Susuras Band (MSB) is the perfect blend of catchy songwriting, breathtaking vocal talent and dazzling musicianship. Whether you attend an all-out rockin' full-band show or an intimate acoustic performance, the fire and passion comes through loud and clear. MSB’s acoustic driven rock is a blend of folk, rock and funk that adds up to create an extremely danceable sound.

From the clubs of Denver Colorado, The Melanie Susuras Band rose to the pinnacle of the local music scene in 1999 with their debut album, “Barefoot Again”. That summer, they shared the stage with Sheryl Crow, The Indigo Girls, Sarah McLachlan and The Dixie Chicks when they were awarded the honor of playing the 1999 Lilith Fair. Since then, MSB has made many guest appearances with a variety of acts including Tab Benoit, Darden Smith, Stacy Earle, Lowen and Navarro, Styx & Peter Frampton and continues to flourish as one of the Denver-area's favorite original acts.

MSB’s new CD “Stop to Stand”, released in June 2008, is once again a testament to the fact that Melanie is a world class singer/songwriter with a powerful, yet smooth vocal style. Melanie is not a lone talent in the Melanie Susuras Band. This band is one solid unit and includes the sultry backing vocals of newest member, Amanda Ray, skilled lead guitar by Eddie Garcia, solid low-end from Jon Burquest on bass guitar and driving force David “D2” Derby on drums and percussion. This lineup has caught the attention of MSB fans and crowds grow with each new show. The chemistry of the band is evident creating an inviting live stage presence that reels you in at the first note and keeps you there until the last.

"It's said that every local musician has one great song in them, and one great personal lifetime achievement - one great album. "Stop to Stand" is Melanie's. !

"Melanie Susuras Band's latest release, Stop To Stand, is taking my breath away. Inspiring, passionate lyrics with beautiful vocals makes this a stand out record. Her band really shines. I'll be playing this over and over in my iPod!

There’s a reason she’s risen to the head of her genre.

"Melanie has a power and strength in her voice that should be respected!"

---by Alex Teitz, President FEMMUSIC.COM

Summer might be cooling down, but the future of this band is definitely not! With the cool, powerful, sultry voice of Susuras delivering impassioned lyrics, MSB is unquestionably hot! If your plans have not included a night out on the town its time to get out and enjoy some musical heat.

---Deanna Gloyd, RIFF Music Magazine

After my bike ride, a bunch of folks met Delynn and I down at the Soiled Dove to see Melanie Susuras play. It's been clear since I saw her play the first time that she has an astounding voice and song writing skills to match. But this is the first time her voice was matched by a band worthy of it. Strong words, but these guys brought the house down.

---LINEAR PULL, Late Night Post

"In the years I've known and worked with them, MSB continually proves to be amongst the best in class in the Denver area, and Melanie herself is one of the best singer / songwriters around."
