DESCRIPTION:
Maya by Motherjane is a rock song about a young girl eloping with her so called lover who turns out to be part of a prostitution ring. So her ''love'' was disillusioned (check out Motherjane's other song - Disillusioned) but she was forced to make ''love'' and is sold as a prostitute, called maya (which means illusion) and is popular for quite sometime until she contracts the disease (STD). Due to this she doesn't get many customers and a ''new girl'' replaces her. She tells the new girl that all of this (life) and she herself (identity) is all just an illusion (maya).

That is my interpretation of Maya by Motherjane.
