JIM MORRISON and THE DOORS -- An American Prayer - Video
PUBLISHED:  Jul 11, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
A few tracks from this 1978 pressing of "An American Prayer"
In 1970 Jim Morrison recorded several hours of his poems with his own voice with the intention of making an album of poetry in a near future.
Unfortunately, he passed away a few months later in 1971, but the recordings were kept in a safe place by the recording engineer John Haeny.
A few years later, John Haeny and the remaining of The Doors members decided to make the poetry album that Jim Morrison wanted. The band wrote new music, and some other well known Doors tracks were also used on the album. Everything was painstakingly mixed with Jim's previously recorded voice, and this is the result.
If you're a Doors fan, take a look at John Haney's website and read about the making of "An American Prayer"
