Here's some rare long-lost footage (on the slydogmania channel) of the legendary Stevie Ray Vaughan, filmed live in Auckland November 12th 1984 at Mainstreet, performing Texas Flood and Pride And Joy with U.S. drummer Chris Layton and NZ bassist Neil Edwards. I was there that night - he opened with Freddie King's The Stumble. Standing right in front of SRV I clearly recall thinking "OMG this guy is as great as Hendrix". Having not seen him playlive before, it was mesmerising. Stevie Ray was so good it seemed eerie and other-worldly...he was just the best. Hope all those SRV fans out there enjoy this!
