"My World" 1998 Decca
"Kawa no nagare no you ni" is my favourite track from Miss Gheorghiu's last Decca album. Even though it was definitely not in the style of enka, the sheer timbre of her voice makes everything else fits. For example just listen to her way of singing the words "yume" and "ame" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rB9-hdWhAj0&feature=share&list=UUpG4hQk6Dtj1ryMGlInt3JQ.
I have been obsessed with the piano part for a few years. It sounds deceptively easy, but of course that's the hallmark of wonderful accompanists. Here I present my take of the song, such as I can transcribe with my current ability. For guideline, the voice line is played by vibraphone. For comparison, please visit the link above for Miss Gheorghiu's performance.
PS: For us the medium voices, I find it most congenial to the voice if the song is sung in C, assuming of course one has a good solid low and high G's.
