Denise Minger Is Vegan Again? Lessons From the Vegans Presentation (2014) - Video
PUBLISHED:  Aug 15, 2014
DESCRIPTION:
For those who don’t know who Denise Minger is, she’s the young lady who tried to debunk the China Study in her blog. The China Study By T Colin Campbell, is the largest epidemiological study on nutrition ever done, and comes to the conclusion that more consumption of animal protein results in more disease. Denise Minger was low fat raw vegan for a year but she didn’t stay on this diet because of health problems she experienced. Basically, her hair was falling out, she was losing too much weight and was having a hard time gaining muscle. But these were all signs of starvation, and it isn't that the 801010 diet is unhealthy. She just wasn’t getting enough calories.

While some people are able to thrive on a fully raw vegan diet, some may have trouble getting enough calories or have digestive issues with fruit, and would do better with including some cooked starches, or just going starched based, rather than fruit based.

In this recent presentation I watched, which was more aimed at an audience of low carb followers, she admits the ways in which she may have been wrong in saying that the high carb vegan diet isn’t optimal, and she gave some good points to consider in her presentation. I recommend checking out her whole presentation in which she plays the devil's advocate. This video is a summary of the points she made. The question and answer session at the end of her presentation was interesting to watch as well.
