DESCRIPTION:
"I Don't Care" song n. 11 from the Album "Straight" (2007) by Milan Polak.
Honestly this is the only song that I like from this album, the other songs have left me completely indifferent, for this reason I want to share only this track.
Good listening.

After 2 hugely successful instrumental albums in "Dreamscapes" and "Guitar Odyssey", Austrian guitar virtuoso Milan Polak returns with his first solo vocal album entitled "Straight". The album is powered by 13 rocking tracks that not only showcase Milan's guitar prowess but also his great bluesy vocals backed by a killer band of Randy Coven (bass, ex Malmsteen, Ark, MCM), John Macaluso (drums, ex Malmsteen, Ark, John Macaluso & Union Radio) and Fabio Trentini (bass).

On the new album Milan comments, "'Straight' stands for the whole concept of this album. One day I sat down and thought about a single word that could perfectly describe me & my music and I found it in 'straight'. The term 'straight' has a lot of different meanings and they all apply to my personality, my lyrics, my music and my attitude. It stands for the way this album looks, sounds and was produced - no FX, no BS. What you see & hear is what you get - 100% Milan. Enjoy!".
On the change of direction, "I had started to realize that playing instrumental guitar music only offers limited possibilities, so I decided to take a step into another direction and write songs with lyrics & vocals to reach a wider audience". Fans of Milan's guitar work will not find any lack of fret board prowess but the addition of vocals gives a more balanced packaged.

This CD was recorded in NY & Germany and features John Macaluso on drums, Randy Coven on bass, Fabio Trentini on bass and Milan Polak on vocals, guitars, percussion, additional bass & blues harp. It received great feedback worldwide, e.g. "Album of the Year" (Netherlands) and "Album of the Month" (Italy). Other nominations were "Top 10 Albums of the Year" (Italy), "Top 30 releases of 2007" (UK) und "Best Guitarist of 2007" (UK). The renowned English Fireworks Magazine voted the song "The Glowing Of A Cigarette" no. 2 of the "Top 200 songs of 2007".

Milan Polak - vocals, acoustic & electric guitars, percussion

Lyrics:

Well, I’ve been searching for peace of mind
And it seems the more I’m looking, the more I’m running blind
I’ve been trying to leave this life behind
Cos in a world of superficial fools the truth is hard to find

Pre-chorus: All I ever wanted was a place to call my own
A little bit of freedom to speak and know where I belong

Verse: Well, I’ve been longin’ for someone I could hold
And it seems the more I’m cravin’, the more this world turns cold
And I’ve been dreamin’ of hate to go away
But in a world of simple minds it’s getting harder every day

Pre-chorus: All I ever needed was trust to find my place
But how can I stand strong and smile into a fake smile-face?

Chorus: I don’t care no more, I just stare into the void I thought would be your soul
I don’t care no more, I don’t dare to trust a heart that’s empty like a hole

Chorus: I don’t care no more, I just stare into the void I thought would be your soul
I don’t care no more, I don’t dare to trust a heart that’s empty like a hole

I won’t listen anymore – I ain’t missin’ you at all...
