The Pace Report: “Jazz Legends for Disability Pride Concert Highlights” - Video
PUBLISHED:  Feb 08, 2017
DESCRIPTION:
On January 5th, 2017 the New York City jazz community came to support the 3rd Jazz Legends for Disability Pride Concert. This event was one of the many concerts during this year's 2017 New York City Winter Jazzfest.

Jazz pianist and organist Mike LeDonne formed Disability Pride NYC as a way to raise the awareness of people with disabilities. Mike's daughter Mary was born with a disability and has worked with the NYC Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities to promote the Disability Pride parade. The money raised from this concert goes directly for this year's 3rd Annual Disability Pride Parade held on July 9th, 2017.

In this special edition of The Pace Report you'll see highlights of this year's Jazz Legends for Disability Pride Concert with interviews and performances from jazz journalists and iconic jazz legends including: Russ Musto, Mike LeDonne, Jimmy Cobb, Buster Williams, George Coleman, Ron Carter, Benny Golson, George Coleman Jr., Dr. Eddie Henderson, Bill Charlap, Renee Rosnes, Kenny Washington, Peter Washington, John Webber, Vincent Herring, Louis Hayes, Russell Malone, Jon Faddis, Willie Jones III, Peter Bernstein, Larry Willis, Eric Alexander, and Derrick Lucas.
