PUBLISHED:  May 15, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
This 25 minute video records Mike Berry's appearance at the Manhattan Bar, Butlin's Holiday Park, Bognor Regis, UK on 30th October 1993. 32 years after his first hit "A Tribute to Buddy Holly". Predictably 5 of the 10 songs featured here were originally sung by his hero, Buddy Holly. Mike realised a life long ambition and recorded an album with The Crickets in 2004. For more information visit Mike's website at www.mikeberry.net

The songs featured are:
"Peggy Sue"
"Heartbeat"

"Don't You Think It's Time"
"Love You More Than I Can Say"
"It Doesn't Matter Anymore"
"Fool's Paradise"
"Sunshine Of Your Smile"
"That'll Be The Day"
"Walk Right Back"

Look out for more transcriptions from Malcolm Drew's Video Archive. They all seem to be memorials. Gerry "Orbison" Grant died in 2010, Reg Presley of The Troggs in 2013, and The Crickets Joe Mauldin in 2015. The Fortunes Barry Pritchard died in 1999. The same year The Swinging Blue Jeans lost Colin Manley and bassist Les Braid died in 2005. Rod Allen of The Fortunes died in 2008 and their former keyboard player Dave Carr in 2011.

TECH BIT: Transcribed from compact S-VHS tape. Cropped from 4:3 to 16:9. Stabilised. When judging picture quality please bear in mind that back in the 90's home video cameras were bulky and conspicuous and most venues prohibited filming so it had to be done discreetly and usually from the worst possible vantage points.
