Billy Joe Roberts "There Stands The Glass" - Video
PUBLISHED:  Dec 29, 2015
DESCRIPTION:
Another fine cut from Billy's 1969 "Beer Drinking Music" album, a mystery has been solved thanks to a nice man named Mike. Turns out Billy's real name is Joe Bob Barnhill (who I'm familiar with), and the label had him use the pseudonym of Billy Joe Roberts since they figured he didn't have a country enough voice. Through the years, he's penned songs for the likes of Red Steagall and also produced artists like Hank Thompson, as well as recording some Western Swing albums. So I thank Mike, who runs a site called "Lone Starr Music" that's well worth a look. Enjoy!
