AVOCET - BERT JANSCH LIVE IN JAPAN '80 - Video
PUBLISHED:  Mar 13, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
'11年10月5日に亡くなったバート・ヤンシュの'80年原宿ラフォーレでのライブからの第3弾。未発表テイク。
AVOCET from the late Bert Jansch's live stage at La Foret Plaza, Harajuku, Japan, on 23 March 1980. Previously unreleased live take.

Bert Jansch: Acoustic Guitar (Rob Armstrong; tuning: DADGAD)
Martin Jenkins: Violin

This is a different take from the one in the Japanese album "BERT JANSCH LIVE AT LA FORET WITH MARTIN JENKINS," which includes the take of 22nd. So you can here listen to the Avocet without mic-hitting nor correcting tuning on the playing.

Avocet is a kind of long-legged bird living on the shores. Bert Jansch's '79 album "AVOCET" consists of six instrumentals titled of kind of bird: Avocet, Lapwing, Bittern, Kingfisher, Osprey, and Kittiwake. The album title tune "Avocet" is so long that the whole A side of the LP was occupied with it (18 minutes). If they had come to the Japan concerts with Nigel Portman-Smith or Danny Thompson as bassist, this live playing might have taken more time, maybe twice as long as this.

I have to say one more thing, this audio source lacks the very last of the ending because of the limitation of cassette tape. So I edited it to be completed with the ending of the take of 22nd.
