May 6 1988, Born on this day, Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, better known as Adele. In 2011 Adele became the first artist to have two top five hits in both the singles chart and the albums chart simultaneously since The Beatles in 1964.

May 7 1967, Jimi Hendrix played two shows at London's Saville Theatre. Ringo Starr, Brian Jones and members of The Beach Boys and The Moody Blues were all checking Jimi out.

And yes, it's still rock n roll to him.

May 10 On this day two classic rock pioneers were born. Yes, on the same day that Dave Mason was born in Worcester, Donovan was born in Glasgow. Dave told the doctors at his birth that he was feeling alright and Donovan told his doctors, who were concerned about possible jaundice, that he was mellow yellow. Happy birthday Dave and Donovan!

May 11 1974, members of Led Zeppelin attended an Elvis Presley show at the Los Angeles Forum in California. After a shaky start to the song "Funny How Time Slips Away," Elvis stopped the band and jokingly said: "Wait a minute, if we can start together fellas, because we've got Led Zeppelin out there, let's try to look like we know what we're doing, whether we do or not." Jimmy Page and Robert Plant met with Elvis after the show, spending over two hours with The King.
