Denim Day spokesperson Maya Jupiter has written a song titled “Never Said Yes” (Artivist Entertainment) inspired by the film The Hunting Ground and Peace Over Violence’s message of ending sexual violence and supporting survivors. Maya Jupiter is an artivist, youth mentor, and co-founder of Artivist Entertainment with husband Aloe Blacc. “Never Said Yes” is a powerful call to end rape culture. She empowers with words like “…blame the victim, they don’t care, but we survive won’t disappear we will thrive and we are here!” The Peace Over Violence Organization website has the download available on their website during Sexual Violence Awareness Month and Denim Day (April/May 2015). The song was performed and written by Maya Jupiter, and produced by Quetzal Flores.
