Max Prussner

"It starts with the chord progression," says Massachusetts artist, Max Prussner, on how he writes his infectious brand of melody-driven pop songs. Yet, it is the layers of emotional complexity that build upon this simple frame that makes Prussner quite uncommon among the standard singer/songwriter fare. "If I feel or have felt a certain thing, chances are someone else has too," says Prussner, who hopes his songs can bring these common feelings to light and unite his audiences. It's a noble goal, in the tradition of Saves the Day and Hot Rod Circut, to be that guy with a guitar who can turn a crowd of any type of people into his back-up choir. And so far, he's succeeding. To see a performance by Max Prussner is to be treated to the elusive raw and sincere emotion that makes music so great. And he does it without the back-up band, Prussner's music needs only its heartfelt simplicity to turn heads and move hearts. His most recent effort, "I refuse," was produced and recorded in Los Angeles by notable singer/songwriter Ari Shine (Bongo Beat Records.) This recording showcases Max's advanced skills as a pop songwriter. He plans to capture even more of his live energy in his next batch of recordings.
