DESCRIPTION:
Digital Music Trends at SXSW 2013 chats to Matt Howe, senior director of business development and head of music content at Livestream. See below the questions and time-stamped links.

33 First of all when did you join the company and did you start by working in music right away?

07 There's a huge spectrum of users that Livestream as a company caters for, let's start with the more basic uses of the platform for bands that may be watching this show for example. How can they use the platform to enhance the relationship with their fans? What are your plans?

00 Moving on to a middle ground for venues that are looking at doing live stream, what would you recommend both in terms of how you record the video and in terms of portability of the videos themselves say if they wanted to put the videos on YouTube?

53 Obviously on Livestream you get some high-profile musicians with a large following and they get a lot of views, but do you have any stories on musicians that didn't start out with a large audience and built it through Livestream and how do they do it?

09 On the Livestream side it seems as if there are two sides to the company, the first being the service side which is the software and the hardware play, and other being a very powerful social platform that I assume you want to grow and make a destination for people not just when there's a specific broadcast that they may want to watch but anytime, just like a TV channel. Is that something that makes sense to you?

40 Is there a way to set up a scheduling system or even a channel to stack up the content and create some sort of continuity for the viewer?

00 Mobile phones are the most popular platform when it comes to taking pictures, is that also the case on the low-end of the Livestream broadcasters in terms of them using mobile devices as their primary device?

17 What's the best way to grow the user base when it comes to music users from Livestream's perspective?

23 Looking at the live blogging side of things on Livestream it's a very cool interface but is that aimed to all users or does it cater more to professional broadcasters?
