Matthew "Ill Trackz" Phinn grew up on the east side of Toronto where Hip-Hop influences were strong. His journey through Hip-Hop music started at the begining of highschool. Though he was a fan of the genre practically all his life, It was at this stage where he became apart of it rather than just being amused by it. While he attended different highschools he noticed that he had a gift for rhyming. Often known for his quick witts, he transformed that gift into freestlying where he was able to riducule his oponents in a way that would hit them where it hurt. Knowing that punch lines could easily be created he tried to create his own songs to current poplular instrumentals. It started off as making songs for people around him and transformed into the idea of actually becoming one of Canada's youngest Hip-Hop artist. Especially since the weak talent of the mainstream Canadian artists and their "safe" music choices, he then realized that in order to do so he needed his own beats. So with little contacts, he had to create his own beats to cater to his style. At this time he lived in Malvern, and in his temporary basement apartment is where he produced archives of beats like Krispy Kreme does donuts. With his goal in mind, him and his cousin Joel put together their resources and created their first "Studio". With a tape deck, a CD player, and a Karaoke Microphone, Matthew got one step closer to his dreams. Soon after he realized that he has a special feel for music in general with even more potential as a producer. With the dreams aside from being a rapper he then decided to take his beats to the top. Ill Trackz is a one man crew with a few family and friends as his street team. Right now Ill Trackz is working with local up-and-coming talents that have been featured on Rapsheet Dvd, flow 93.5 + underground Hip-Hop radio stations, Toronto's Spring Bling, opened for Mobb Deep and even performed for the Dipset A&R. Like Beethoven on steriods Ill Trackz creates that fire in the comfort of his basement and the outcomes are classically BANANAS! Providing that good stuff that these junkies been missing. Basically "It aint a ill track if it aint ILL TRACKZ"
