Music has never been something just playing in the background for Jamaican singer/songwriter, Matik. Rather for him, it has been the one thing present at the forefront of it all. Once Matik recognized music as the one constant in his life, he never let the needle lift off the record…furthermore; he set out to create some of his own.
When Matik surrendered to that consuming need to create, he made it a personal goal to be an artist of truth and have that be both the cause and purpose for his work. Perhaps being born and raised in the countryside of Jamaica is one of the reasons why Matik is magnetically drawn to what is natural and real. In every single song, Matik's lyricality displays his talent as well as his deep rooted connection with the reality of life.
