BIOGRAPHY

Hezron Clarke, dubbed as “one of reggae greatest talents” by Jamaica’s top entertainment newspaper, the XNEWS, is often compared to the likes of Mikey Spice, Beres Hammond and Luther Vandross, because of his raspy sound and thrilling lyrics. The reggae singer has also been referred to as “the “perfect package” because of his awesome physique, good looks, and breathtaking voice”. Born in the Moy Hall District of St. James, Jamaica, Hezron discovered his talents singing in the local church choir. He nurtured this talent with the support of family and friends and has become a gifted poet, artist, song writer and producer.
Formerly an R&B singer, who lived in the United States for over a decade, and who has worked with the likes of Tommy Matola of Sony Records as well as Def Jam Records, Hezron decided to return to Jamaica and to his first love, reggae music. His return has been opening new doors to his success; he has worked with genius producer, Bobby Digital, who heads a list of elite producers lined up to voice him. The singer has also captured the attention of producer extraordinaire, Tad Dawkins, who has a unique eye and ear for talent. He heard Hezron on radio singing the Luther Vandross cover, “Every Year, Every Christmas” and was blown away by his extraordinary vocals.
Wielding his guitar and a rare ability to capture raw vocal emotion, Hezron has been melting hearts with his smashing, number one, hit single “So In Love”. The lovers’ rock song conveys the age-old domestic demand from women for more time. ‘So In Love’ was included on Tad’s Singers’ Compilation CD, ‘Hit List’ and VP Records “Strictly the Best Vol 41”. The single also had chart impact on the South Florida charts and New York Top 20, it spent twenty five weeks, two weeks at number one, on Richie B’s Jamaica’s Music Countdown with and spent five weeks at number one on the reggae charts in the US Virgin Islands.
Hezron has been locking the stage show circuit in Jamaica, delivering refreshing performances at Reggae Sumfest in July 2009 then made his presence felt at the ‘A St. Mary Mi Come From’ staging in August 2009 before serenading the contestants of the Miss Jamaica World 2009 Pageant and his dynamic performance at Rebel Salute 2010. These world-class events, amongst many others, witnessed the soulful singer giving the thousands in attendance their money’s worth, and afforded the singer two nominations at the EME Awards 2010, Song of the Year for his number one single ‘So In Love’, and Vocalist of the Year
Currently, the singer is working on an album, to be released early in 2010, which will include another favorite of his, ‘The One’. “It is fun, exciting and up-tempo,” he said. ‘The One’ witnesses Hezron making his declaration of love for that special “one”. Also expected to make the track list are Shaggy and Hezron in ‘Two Places’, unreleased but already a favorite for primetime radio. Hezron is determined to continue making good music for all his audiences. “I am in no rush, right now it’s about writing good music, honing my art and fans can just expect good music all the time,” he said. “Reggae will always be the root but my ultimate music is really a fusion of reggae, R&B, hip hop, Latin…the music that I love listen…to create a new sound,” Along with his local management team, the singer is looking to take his career to the highest level in the biz.
