This is dedicated in gratitude to Phil and Kathy Miller. Four years ago, my love for the Millers gave me the courage to sing this song a capella at a community love fest for them in Matfield Green, Kansas, almost a year before I took up the ukulele. Little did I know that was the beginning of a new audacity to raise my voice in service to love.
I trust that Horatio G. Spafford will not mind that I made his spiritually-heroic song more ecumenical by using one of my favorite names for God (Love) in a beautiful verse of surrender that is not often included in hymnals.
