I wanted to create a lyric video different than any I've ever done before. My first thought: stop motion. After two days of prep (shout out to mom for helping me paint letters, find backdrops and props), three 14 hour days of shooting, and days of editing (thanks Joey), I give you the "Mascara" lyric video.

Shout out to Alexander for helping to move each little letter, bear, and unicorn and to Joey who helped click each photo and bring this to life through editing.

I was sitting on my bed one night with my little keyboard messing around with song ideas when the lyric came to mind "I'm not gonna waste anymore mascara on you". I only had this one line saved to the many notes in my phone. One day, it came to my mind again at a writing session and we ended up building the song around this thought. This song to me is about not wasting any of your tears on a person or situation that's bringing you down. It's that turning point when you realize "You're not even worth crying over anymore". It's about taking back control of your life and not letting anyone dictate your happiness. I hope enjoy this song and that you find yourself singing along at the top of your lungs in your room or your car. Thanks for watching.
