Marty Thomas is a singer of remarkable ability who made his Billboard debut with "Resurrect Me (Lift Me Up)" on Westend Records in 2001. His dance tunes soar into the realm of the club anthem with Marty's shining vocal delivery firmly at the helm. Remixed by artists such as Tom Moulton, Hex Hector, Blaze and Julian Marsh, he was recognized with Grammy nominations and Billboard awarded the song, song of the year in the gospel/contemporary christian category.

Marty Thomas possesses a performance history as impressive as his vocal talents. Perhaps one of his most notable accomplishments was his winning the title of 1992 Junior Vocalist Champion on Ed McMahon's Junior Star Search television show beating the then unknown, Britney Spears.

Raised on a farm in Northern Missouri, Marty Thomas began honing his skills as an entertainer at a very early age. Singing in church and local talent shows he managed to earn himself a bit of a fan base before ever having taken a music lesson. He performed in many community theater productions and quickly graduated to larger scale regional theater. Before he was ten years old, he was performing as a featured soloist heading choirs of musicians twice his age. He was also featured in numerous television programs and commercials, and at age eleven, he was cast as one of the leads (Colin) in the Broadway musical "The Secret Garden" for which he moved to New York City.

After "The Secret Garden," Marty returned to Missouri to Branson, the country music capitol of the world, to further pursue his singing career. Joining a young country pop band called The Young Branson Stars, he performed eight shows a week while attending public school full time. A popular act, The Young Branson Stars opened for many country favorites, among them The Oak Ridge Boys, Glenn Campbell, Steve Warner and Shennandoah.

Throughout high school and college Marty continued to perform in theater productions, national tours, country music venues and in various choral and theatrical competitions.

In 2000 Marty returned to New York City where he, like many like him, supported himself with various odd jobs while continuing his training as well as auditioning and performing. Marty performs with "The Black Nativity" at the United Palace Theatre in New York City with such artists as Phylicia Rashaad, Bebe Winans, Stephanie Mills, Freddie Jackson and many many more. This year he sang Freddie Jacksons songs while Mr. Jackson was out of town promoting his new album.

Marty has recently made his return to the Broadway Stage as he has been cast and has begun performing with the multiple Tony nominated Broadway Musical "Wicked". He also performed with the cast on the 2004 televised Tony Awards Ceremony. He continues to sing and write with some of the greatest artists in the industry. He can also be found performing often at the drop of a hat in various cabarets around New York City, such as XL and Therapy with his hot live band, featured on this album. At such a young age, he has performed with such esteemed artists as Patti Labelle, Grace Jones, Billy Porter, Jordan Hill, Glen Campbell, Sheryl Crow, Motley Crue and so many others. Respect for him and his talent is clear throughout the music industry.

Marty's powerful vocal technique has been compared to Taylor Dayne, Andy Bell, Jamiroquoi, Anastasia, Sam Harris, Alyson Moyet and even Celine Dion. Extreme control and versatility are synonomous with Martys name. From powerful showtunes, to throw down gospel, to R&B, to Country Funk, Marty is a versatile performer and has a large fan base that continues to grow.

Marty Thomas is a winning combination of great pipes, moves, spirit and stage presence that comes together like alchemy to deliver what is soon to be gold.

In 2004, Marty released an album of his most popular cover tunes he performs with his band around New York City. From Country/Funk to Gospel, to Blues, to Rock to R&B, to Showtunes, this album covers all bases and is bound to be a sure fire hit with all those who love real music.

Most recently, leaving the cast of Wicked, Marty has been travelling the world. He has been judging dance competions, headlining aboard major cruise lines and in famous cabaret spaces. He also has lent his voice to Television networks such as the WB, Fox, Oxygen, ABC, MTV and VH1.

He was just cast in the brand new Broadway musical, Xanadu. Xanadu is a staged adaptation of the 1980 classic cult film of the same name starring Olivia Newton-John. Rehearsals begin in April and a Broadway opening is expected for mid June.
