Dear friends, fans and colleagues,
Thank you for visiting my Kickstarter page!

I'm turning to you because I would like your participation in a new project into which I have put a lot of love and creativity.

For the last three years or so, I've been writing a new batch of songs - in English - which is a monumental and exciting step for me. I believe there is a lot of beauty and honesty is captured in these songs. I've performed this material in clubs around New York City to a very enthusiastic response, and the band evolved to feature some amazing players: Ben Monder on the electric guitar, Ugonna Okegwo on the acoustic bass, Chris Komer on the French horn, Adam Cruz on drums. I plan to have special guests on strings and woodwinds, and of course I'll be singing and playing acoustic guitar and cuatro.

The name of this new project? "Marta & The Other Shore". For me, this name carries much symbolism: my immigration from the Czech Republic, living on both coasts of the United States, but also a new wave of creativity and growth.

I am in the final stages of preparations to make the debut recording of "The Other Shore" and am asking for your help. You can participate here at different levels ranging from $10 - $5,000. Whatever you'd like to contribute will be greatly appreciated, and I hope you'll enjoy the special rewards I'm offering!

The money you contribute will go towards studio costs, the recording engineer, musician fees and the production of the actual CD.

My plan is to go into the studio this fall, and release the album in early 2011.

I cannot accomplish this without your help, and it would mean so much to me to have your support.
