Peeing in the sink for over 6 years, Marr emerged from the frozen tundra of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada to become a renowned force in un-uniformed, underground music. This statement has been disputed by most outside the circle of Marr. Endeared as "art rock," the band consistently sidestepped the tiring signatures that had traditionally defined the generalities of rock music.
Marr released 1 EP and 2 full length albums in their shotty career.
Discography: Demonstration (EP) Released 2003
Lucky You're Not Up On The Roof Today (Full Length) Released 2004
Winter Ditches (Full Length) Released 2008
On the band's second full-length CD, Winter Ditches, the members of Marr (vocalist Louis Irving, guitarists Jay Soppet and Steve Fairhurst, bassist Tom MacKenzie and drummer Todd Ouellette) combined the eccentric meanderings of 2004's Lucky You're Not Up On The Roof Today with the genre jumping sounds and dynamics that had become the band's hallmark. The album was produced and recorded by long-time Marr accomplice and 2 time Juno nominee Justin Koop (Silverstein, St Alvia Cartel, Billy Talent, Finger 11) at B-Town Sound in Burlington, Ontario. Winter Ditches was an arcane dimension of schizophrenic melodies, vomit inducing rhythms, mammoth heaviness, bubble gum schlop-pop, mind numbing prog-core, dumb funk and electronica. any metaphors or?

In addition to live exhibitions at numerous music festivals such as Summer Dayz Festival (2007) Festival of Friends (2006) It's Your Festival (2006) and Open Eye Festival (2005), Marr continued to awe crowds of 10 and sometimes 12 people in the northern United States, Eastern Canada and back at home in Southern Ontario. With a weakness for meat and the open road, this 1 band took part in 3 tours of 4 Canadian 7 Provinces in 6 years.
Marr gracially shared stages with: Tugnut, The Inflation Kills, Jon Epworth, Mohagany Frog, Measured In Angles, Sinister Trailer Park Magic, Sailboats are White, Tooler, Wanatipit Death and Fun! (the last 3 bands listed here do not knowingly exist)
Marr's song "Landscape" was performed by the band in the New Line Cinema movie Shoot 'Em Up and can be found on the soundtrack amongst the likes of Motorhead and Dillinger Escape Plan. Although the band was pretty stoked about this, they weren't stupid and realized they did not belong in the same company as Motorhead and Dillinger Escape Plan. I mean, come on! The Soundtrack was released by Bulletproof Entertainment.
Although the band has not officially broken up they all really hate each other. Just kidding. sort of.
