With an insistent baseline, the first three minutes of this track’s ethereal sound is very reminiscent of Brian Eno’s ambient output. But then suddenly it ramps it up into Kraftwerk territory and you even start to get into beautiful John Carpenter chord changes. Thin Films have an obvious talent for constructing interesting and emotive sounds that fit perfectly into both soundtracks and modern classical compositions.

The lasting impression I get from Thin Films is that his work is in the same arena as both Clint Mansell and John Murphy, with its occasional abrasiveness and atmospheric quality that has the ability to conjures up many feelings and emotions which are perfect to apply to moving images.
