A new form of Apartheid has risen, separating "Naturals" from "Hanzers" - humans with mechanical augmentations - after Hanzers worldwide flew into a psychotic killing spree for a few hours in fall of 2027, when broken philantropist and billionaire Hugh Darrow, convinced that augmentations would lead humanity into an abyss, activated a signal that corrupted their augmentations' firewall chips, killing more than 50 million people worldwide.
