Here we go! Something that you probably didn't expect, "Ragnarok", a new series of compilation albums organized by Magnus Records has its first installment out now and it features top-tier tracks from many regular pony musicians of the heavier bass music! This is "Battalion" from AJ Young that is the third track in the album, and it is but a foretaste of the crazy good stuff awaiting you on the album! Download link below!

It is time AJ Young makes a new appearance on the channel, and this heavy yet beautifully refined track part of "Ragnarok Vol.1" was an excellent chance. Along its incredible aggressive wubs, slick percussions, and epic progression, follow a battle between Nightmare Moon and Celestia that is not the first, as the war lasted a while as per AJ Young's story that he is depicting through this track. Find below explanations on the story from AJ Young himself!

"It's mostly based on the idea of a battle/war between Celestia and Nightmare Moon. As if the original battle between them lasted a long while, splitting Equestria into factions. The beginning of the song is supposed to give you the excitement leading up to battle, followed by all-out CHAOS during the drop. The bridge section is meant to convey the illusion of peace, and a time to reflect on the little bits of beauty and heroism that poke through the darkness, but it's quickly broken by the heat of battle once again in the second half of the song."

That concept of "light through the darkness" is quite beautiful, and the mood and progression of the track sure do an awesome job at reflecting the story overall. A powerful release from AJ Young that definitely fits well on the album along the other masterpieces present! This compilation album is the first of a series that is unleashing the best that the heavy bass musicians of this community can offer, and it is coordinated by Magnus Records, a brony and furry label that gathers those musicians. This marks the start of continued collaborative efforts between our channels to bring you mighty pony tunes that Vinyl Scratch would approve of! I hope this whole video and its visuals were kind of epic for you, because that's what I aimed for! This album contains such amazing heavy tunes, I had to pay due tribute to it. Magnus Records actually approached me with the idea of making a promotional video for the release of "Ragnarok Vol.1", but I couldn't stop there: I knew I had to post one of the tracks on Cider Party too, and make cool visuals for it as well!
I did the first "introduction of the album" part of the video with love towards Magnus Records, as I love those musicians and I love collaborations. The textured font of "Ragnarok" is from Mantlegen. The Nightmare Moon coat of arms is something that AJ Young wanted to use in his upload, so I was like "Hmm what could I do with this" and then I knew I had to animate it and make the wings flap and the crown spin! I had to rely heavily on image editing for it to work. Hopefully it looks cool! As for the main part of the video, the background picture also comes from AJ Young, and I thought I'd make it a "battlefield" following the story of the song, so I added sparks from war fires rising up into the sky from behind the mountains, Persona 3 "eyes shot" at the drops (because I had to), and (manually edited) artworks of Nightmare Moon and Celestia as they're fighting along the progression of the song! Hope you enjoyed!
