Jimi Magnole's 1974 Maestro Echoplex In For Restoration - Video
PUBLISHED:  May 18, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
So my buddy, Jimi Magnole, brought me his 1974 Maestro Echoplex for some restoration. The belt and tape were broken and needed replacing. So I disassembled the entire unit, in order to install the new belt, cleaned the heads, and installed a new tape. The end result is a very cool, classic Echoplex that produces some very cool warbly gerbly gerbs, slap back echo, and loooooooooooooong delays as well. Until you actually play through one of these bad boys, you can never truly appreciate the sonic significance of them or their contributions to the music made since the 60's. For a prime example of the Echoplex, used to surgical precision, check out Brian May's "Brighton Rock" solo, where he chained, I believe, 3 of them together!!
