The famous American author Donna Leon opened the 36. Innsbruck Festival of Early Music. This year, the festival is all about "The Beauty of the Unknown". Therefore, Leon centered her wonderful speech about the fascination of the unknown, ephasising she is very happy that Innsbruck is a city with a big cultural history and a high cultural status.

Also Innsbruck's major, Christine Oppitz-Plörer, underlined the importance of culture as a bridge between people, as did governor, Günther Platter, who especially highlighted the Tyrol's impressive cultural tradition.

The Innsbruck Festival of Early Music invites you to a fascinating time-travel through different eras and all around the world. Between August 8th and 26th, you have the chance of encountering this "Beauty of the Unknown" in each single one of the many concerts. You will enjoy it.
