DESCRIPTION:
Coming off their successful gig in Portland, Oregon, two Boston musicians, Julie Vallimont (one half of the Double Apex duo) and Andy Reiner play a modern variant of contradance music that's been described as "fiddle techno" or "live techno" that adds looped and synthetic sounds to their mesmerizing repertoire. This dance led by Bay Area caller Lynn Ackerson features a do-si-do maneuver familiar to contradancers called the Mad Robin. The sequence was filmed at the special North Bay Country Dance event held in San Rafael, California, on July 3, 2012.
